ANDREAS TSELEPOS


Born on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus, Andreas moved to New York where he received his BFA in Theatre Arts, Performance Sequence at Hofstra University in New York (2004), studied under Richard Southern at the School for Film and Television and got his MFA in Theatre Directing, at the New School for Drama (Actors Studio Drama School), in New York City (2008). In 2002 and 2004 he received the Distinguished Service Award for his outstanding participation in the Hofstra Theatre Productions of "Stage Door" (David Kingsley), "Romeo and Juliet" (Paris), "Smile" (Tommy) and "Hedda Gabler" (Lovborg). In 2003 he won the Best Actor Award for his work on Chebutykin in "The Three Sisters". His film work includes "Rectifying", "Dreaming of Society", "Red Thursday" and "All about Jack" winner of the New York Anthology Film Archives award. In the summer of 2004, his voice was given to the Discovery Channel International documentary "Marathon".

He is the founder and Director of Midas Touch Productions, based in Cyprus, with offices in London and New York, collaborating with 'The Old Vic' and touring the amphitheaters of Cyprus every Summer. He has produced such plays as 'Othello', 'Romeo and Juliet' with upcoming star Kate Maberly, 'The Merry Wives of Windsor' to name a few. His last production 'West End Story', toured Cyprus to sold-out venues.

He is a member of the Greek Cultural Center of New York, working as an Actor and a Director. Some of his favorite directing credits include the original play "A Sleeping Country" (NY Premiere May 10th 2008), "The Falling Notes" (NY Premiere, May 12th 2006), "Love Me, Margaret" (NY Premiere, May 11th 2007). His last directing works was featured in Random Acts!, where he directed Harold Pinter's "The Lover" and Donald Marguiles "Women in Motion". The original play "Juniper, Jubilee", by Janine Nabers, directed by Alexandra Hastings, where Andreas played the role of Carl, won the 2008 Off-Off Broadway Samuel French Festival.

In 2008, he became a Professor at Hofstra University, Department of Drama and Dance, where he was teaching Acting and Theatre Appreciation until 2010. 2010 marked his return to his homeland, Cyprus, where he got accepted as an actor at the National theatre of Cyprus, THOC.  He has worked with most major television stations in Cyprus, in CYBC's period TV Drama, "Βήματα στην Άμμο" where he plays Κρίτων (currently running its third season), at MEGA TV's "Γυμνοί Άγγελοι" and ΑΝΤ1's "Πρεμιέρα" and the new daily series "Νιώσε με" where he plays Κωνσταντίνος.
