Starbucks / RED

Not-For-Profit & Social Responsibility

We teamed up with coffee giant Starbucks and the (RED) charity for a global online event to help fight AIDS in Africa.

On December 7th, at 1:30pm GMT (8:30am EST), musicians from all over the world united to sing a simultaneous, live performance of the legendary Beatles classic ‘All You Need Is Love’. With 156 countries taking part, the event was the first broadcast of its type in history.

The event used state of the art technology to stream the live feed of each performance from all 156 countries on the website www.StarbucksLoveProject.com. The event was also marked by events in New York and London where huge screens displayed the 156 live feeds.

Following the sing-along, anyone with access to the site and a web camera had the opportunity to submit their own version of ‘All You Need Is Love’ for the world to see and hear. For every voice added from around the globe Starbucks made a monetary donation towards the appeal.
